@Ai We did a fair amount of testing, debugging and fixing yesterday in OSGrid and other smaller grids, and it looks like things are working according to how they're supposed to work, as long as the components are properly configured.

The best communication medium to help testing is the IRC irc.freenode.net #opensim-dev channel. Consider joining when you have time. Thanks!

When I deleted one of the Be Austin friends BOTH entries disppapeared from my list too. so its cleary confused in my setup.

And... I see my own grid offline IMs have stopped working when the new HG/IM setup is enabled. I will revert for now as I must have some server configuration issues. I am still seing objects left by others on my grid as "Unknown User" and on 0.7.2 just now a user that was clearly labelled with name and origin grid showed as "Unknown User" in my chat window as I spoke with him.

If yu ca suggest specific tests and specific grids to do it between to diagnose the issues let me know Diva. OSGrid seems to work at its end as expected so it must be a setup/config issue on my grid I assume.

I have just started testig this on Openvue Diva. I had an avatar Be Austin on OSGrid and my avatar Ai Austin on Openvue. Ai travelled to OSGrid and offered friendship to Be. Be on OSGrid sees in the friends list the entry Ai Austin @virtual.aiai.ed.ac.uk:8002 as I would expect

Ai though sees an entry Be Austin with no grid qualifier.

On return to Openvue grid I see no confirmation of the friendhsip as you siad. Log off and back on there is still no confirmation. A test IM to Be Austin entry says user is busy or offline, but Be Austin is stil on OSGrid.

There was already a local Be Austin in friendsl list of Ai on openvue. TWO entries now look identical, and when I try IM through either entry it shows the user is busy or not online entry... maybe it was trying the local Be Austin each time.

Hope this feedback is useful. I am still trying to see how it works.

This sounds very interesting and a powerful communications tool for HG that will help open up the metaverse still more, even into walled gardens. Brilliant!
